I have a trio of interesting news stories today. Where else could you find The Simpsons, Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds? Read ahead for info on possible Wolverine and Simpsons sequels and a Presidential Motorcade.
Well this came out of pretty much nowhere. Seems the house that mouse built has decided if you can’t beat em, buy em. They have just purchased Marvel Comics for a staggering $4 BILLION DOLLARS. This means that they can now make whatever Marvel movie or TV show they want, and get residual checks from the movies already in the pipeline making money.
Want more Wolverine? Well, you got it with the upcoming release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine on Blu-ray and DVD. Fox Home Entertainment will release it this September with a studio Blu-ray first. With the unsurprising success of X-Men Origins: Wolverine it’s no surprise that supporting character Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool) is getting his own spinoff. Ryan Reynolds will reprise the role of the wise cracking mercenary in a stand alone film.
It may still technically be spring, but summer is practically here now that X-Men Origins: Wolverine has been released and taken the top spot at the box office. The incomplete work in progress print that leaked online didn’t seem to effect it’s draw as it took in a hefty $87 million at the box office.
With Wolverine set to hit your local theater screen this May, the first three X-Men are mutating from their previous standard definition releases into high definition counterparts. The three films will be available in one package or separately. There is a wealth of extras for each disc plus digital copies of each film will be available.
Fanboys are at it again. Freaking out when it’s not necessary. Apparently word came out that Wolverine is undergoing ‘extensive’ re-shoots and poor Fox got bad mouthed some more for ruining a movie that is yet to be seen. This in turn prompted actor Hugh Jackman to respond via Aint-It-Cool News.
