Star Wars Re-Released – AGAIN!

Fox and LucasFilm just couldn’t resist the temptation of the dark side. They are yet AGAIN releasing the Star Wars movies, including the pseudo-original ones on DVD. This time in a 3-disc pack, WITHOUT the bonus disc from the last release and with new artwork. To get a look, make the jump to hyperspace…

On December 6th, Fox will re-release the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD for $49.98 SRP. The movies will be the SAME disc’s that are currently available in the 4-disc box. These are NOT the originals, they are the special-special editions of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The original Audio Commentary tracks with George Lucas, Carrie Fisher and others will remain in tact. THERE WILL NOT BE A BONUS DISC. Also, the cover art for the new 3-disc pack has changed. In my opinion it’s not nearly as attractive as the previous box. Makes ya wonder who will be crazy enough to get this.Cover Art –(Click to Enlarge)

Also, look for a re-release of The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones on November 1st to coincide with the release of Revenge of the Sith. The DVD’s will be EXACTLY the same as the versions already available – right down to the packaging. Clone Wars Volume II comes out on December 6th also. For your reading enjoyment, we’ve reviewed all the Star Wars content on DVD right now.Take a look –Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom MenaceStar Wars: Episode II – Attack of the ClonesStar Wars TrilogyStar Wars: A Musical JourneyTheatrical Review –Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the SithI suspect we lost a review of Clone Wars: Volume I in the server crash earlier this year.
