We finally have the official announcement for the slew of Muppet anniversary DVD’s and for some other Disney titles hitting stores shortly. Play the music and light the lights for info on new versions of The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppets Christmas Carol and Muppets Treasure Island. First mentioned in our forums a month ago, Disney has announced that in honor of Kermit the Frog’s 50th Anniversary, the following Muppet films will be re-released on DVD with brand spankin’ new transfers and bonus features. But, I use the term bonus lightly because some of the versions already out have more supplements. Although, this is the first time these movies have been available on DVD in their original aspect ratios. That alone is worth it for me :DThe movies will hit shelves on November 29th for a fair $19.99 SRP each.Specs -The Muppet Movie:

    ———————————————————Finally, Disney is releasing Tales from Avonlea which was known as Road to Avonlea when it played on the CBC in Canada. The show has been available on DVD from the CBC for years, but the quality was low and the price was outrageously expensive. Disney is now offering the entire first season spread over 3-disc’s for $34.99 when it hits stores on November 8th. Like with the cartoon sets above, there will be no extras included.Specs Include –
