Ridley Scott’s Gladiator is getting re-worked, with a new cut of the movie in a new 3-Disc Special Edition on the way.To get some of the preliminary details, forge ahead into the Colosseum…And remember – What We Do In Life, Echoes In Eternity!

Although not yet officially announced, Gladiator will be coming out in a new DVD set featuring a brand new cut of the movie and oodles of bonus material beyond what is already available. On the downside, the excellent DTS track of the current 2-disc Special Edition will be Omitted.Details may change a bit, but they should look something like this -Disc One: Extended Feature Film

  • Widescreen Extended Edition of the Film, with 17 Minutes Additional Footage
  • Original Theatrical Cut of the Film
  • Introduction to Extended Cut by Director Ridley Scott
  • An “Are You Not Entertained?” Trivia track with Historical References etc

  • An Evening with Russell CroweThere you have it. The set should hit stores on June 7th, although the price has yet to be announced and the details have yet to be confirmed. I would guess the price would be about the same as the excellent 3-disc Black Hawk Down set, which was about $35.If the details change or more becomes known we’ll post it.
