Shiver me timbers. One of the summer’s most enjoyable movies is slated for a December DVD release… “Pirates of the Carribean” was more fun than any movie based on a theme park ride deserved to be. Bolstered by loads of swashbuckling, pirate zombies, and derring-do, the film entertained audiences and cleaned house at the box office. A hilarious Keith Richards-inspired performance by Johnny Depp didn’t hurt. The DVD will be released on December 2, 2003 in anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. It will also come with a bevy of extras including: 3 audio commentaries, two featurettes (“An Epic At Sea: The Making of “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl”, and Below Deck: An Interactive History Of Pirates), bloopers, deleted scenes, and more.
