There were few surprises this morning for the majority of the categories. However, with the Academy making 10 films eligible for BEST PICTURE there were going to be a few. You might be getting some emails from Disqus about posting a comment at Eye Crave Network. I’ve switched comment systems and unfortunately cannot automatically import the comments. I’ve had to do it the hard way and import each comment 1 at a time. Do not fret, I’m not spamming you, or selling your info, it’s just an easier way for me to maintain and manage the comments.

Site Down Time

I’d like to apologize for the site down time over the past few days. I appears as though it started with a file system issue, blossomed into a hacker getting into the server itself and then them upgrading the system to make it more secure. Fan Expo 2009: Pictures

This past weekend the Metro Toronto Convention Centre was home to Fan Expo 2009 where geeks, freaks, and peeps were exposed to comics, sci-fi, horror, games and anime. While I spent most of my time working on getting interviews, making new contacts, friends and having a blast. I did manage to snap a few photos here and there. Here are some of the photos I took while I was there.

Surprise! Disney buys Marvel Comics

Well this came out of pretty much nowhere. Seems the house that mouse built has decided if you can’t beat em, buy em. They have just purchased Marvel Comics for a staggering $4 BILLION DOLLARS. This means that they can now make whatever Marvel movie or TV show they want, and get residual checks from the movies already in the pipeline making money.

Fan Expo 2009

Over the next 3 days Toronto will play host to Fan Expo 2009. With guests like Leonard Nimoy, Bruce Campbell and Canadian legend Leslie Neilson, to name a few, it’s shaping up the be a good time.

Site Issues

Greetings All. Eye Crave Network has been having some issues in the admin interface which has made posting full stories impossible. We’ve been experiencing this issue for a few weeks now and have been working with several people to resolve it. Attempts to restore from a backup version of the site have also failed. Tribbles to Invade Comic-Con

After a few leaks and rumors, Engadget.com is reporting that Microsoft has offically announced The Zune HD.  It reportedly will have a new way to interact with the Xbox 360 and specifically Xbox Live.
